shadowtricker: (walk in the rain)
I'm afraid I feel I've had a less than auspicious start, and I'm aware as I post this that it is technically day 2. Today got rather tangled up with a lengthy drive, my own exhaustion, and technical difficulties. I have 1,286 words according to Word, but I can't seem to tell that to the NaNoWriMo site. Is anyone else having difficulties? Is it specific times that are bad to access the site? I'd appreciate any help with this. Nearly anything and everything I try to edit gives me an 'Internet Explorer cannot find the site' screen, I even went through it for a good ten minutes just trying to log in. When I reach the page where I should be able to enter word count, I can enter a number in the first field but I'm unable to enter anything in the word count validation field.
Could someone give me a hint on this? I know I can be a bit slow with computers, but I know enough to know that it should be working better than this.
For tonight I'm off to bed, in the hopes I won't be quite as drained and more productive tomorrow. Later today.

I shall try the word count bit again after I've got something more written today. Perhaps it's just some sort of glitch or high-traffic problem. In the meantime I give you a short story dug up from an old disk. This was a collaboration between myself and Rey, and it seemed the time to post it. Don't forget to reset your clocks.

I do hope all this works and show the right number. I wrote this evening until I hit an impasse due to lack of technical knowledge. I'll do some research again in the morning.

That should be 3,323 words, and 7 cups of tea although I've got no counter for that.
